settle for less leaf people

When I saw a reel posted on Mirai IG about different types of people, I had to pause and consider its meaning.

1. Leaf People - They’re like the autumn leaves, vibrant and lively, gracing your life with color for a season. Yet, as fleeting as they are, they remind us of the beauty in transience. But beware, for they sway with the wind, and when the storms come, they may not stand by your side.
2. Branch People - Stronger, offering moments of support and shade, they share in your joys and sorrows for a while. However, when the storms of life rage fiercely, they may snap under the pressure. Their presence teaches us about limits, both theirs and our own.
3. Root People - Ah, these are the rarest gems. Unseen, they delve deep into the soil of your being. They nourish and support you, unwavering through every season of life. Through droughts and storms, their love remains constant, grounding you with their presence.
As we journey through life’s garden, let’s cherish each leaf, branch, and root, understanding the role they play in our growth.

Leaf people are not bad. I must appreciate them for who they are and how they fit into my life. Understanding if someone is a leaf, branch, or root helps me set boundaries and understand reciprocity. What I give and how much I share is a choice that I should make with eyes (not just my heart) wide open. As I mourn the loss of my grandmother, I appreciate the support of my root people and accept that leaf people were never meant to help me through the storms.

Settle for less leaf people to have time to cherish your root people!
