Settle for less echo chambers — because there is danger in a single story.

I’m grateful for learning from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED Talk, The Danger of a Single Story. She explained to me and countless other viewers that when we base our understanding on just one narrative, we root our beliefs in incomplete knowledge.

Echo chambers — spaces where only familiar beliefs are reinforced — are breeding grounds for single stories. They silence differences and trap us in believing there is only one right way.

By settling for less echo chambers, I choose to listen to other stories, question what I am told, and challenge my beliefs.
