settle for less baggage

When airlines changed their carry-on policies, I was outraged. As a student, I couldn't afford the added fee, so I suddenly had only my backpack. It felt impossible… until I did it.

To my surprise, I learned to pack only what I truly needed. Then I started to wonder how often do I carry emotional baggage? How many unquestioned thoughts and beliefs am I carrying in my mind?

Baggage isn't just a suitcase. It's the fear we haven't named, the assumptions we never questioned, and the self-doubt we hold about ourselves. Just as a heavy bag slows you down and makes you work extra hard, emotional baggage weighs down our minds and slows down our happiness.

Freedom and joy come when we recognize what we're carrying, learn how to question its value, and let go of what's not helping us. It's not always easy. Sometimes we need help, and oftentimes we have to practice. But every time I let go of baggage, I feel lighter, more present, and more open to life.

Settle for less baggage to feel better.
